"Disable Smileys", I think (and I could be wrong) was placed in there as an option to keep them from cropping up in a message where none were intended. For example, if I were talking about the game TES: Daggerfall, if I accidentally ran it together, it would come out as TEShttp://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gifaggerfall. If I "disabled smileys" it wouldn't matter. See?

It only applies to the current post someone is making.

I remember back on the old post, if you were making a list like 1-8, the 8 with a colon or something would always givea a http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif instead.
