I had large hopes for the game but was dissapointed.

what was disappointing about it? maybe your expectations were just too high. can we have some detail so we know what to expect

Have you read the Cthulhu books, or playing in a Call of Cthulhu RPG? if you go in guns blazing you're going to die horribly and quite insane, if you sneak around you will die horribly and insane later in the game.

Yeah I have read a fair few books and played some games, just am not a huge fan of this game. Not the sort of thing I would play on XBox.
