I'm sold then. I keep seeing it for under $20 and need something Star Wars related to keep me going. How about KOTOR 2? Is that as good?

KotOR 2 is almost identical to KotOR 1 in gameplay, but with the addition of prestige classes, lightsaber forms and Force forms. The story in KotOR 2 is a bit darker than the one on KotOR 1, but the game feels less polished than it's predecessor.

yes kotor has a much better story than kotor2.

kotor2 even has some recycled kotor1 planets.

It has 1!, and the other one that is the same is far different.

This is my early fathers day present that I awarded myself as my kid is still in the womb. :D I just started playing as a scout. I basically just made it past the beginning. I am in Holy Crap mode right now. Everything seems so cool, I started off using my sword which was kind of funny running up to them as they are blasting away missing me. But I switched to a blaster because it seems kind of suicidal to take on people with blasters using a sword when you are a corridors length away. I have now taking a more tactical approach using a grenade than blasters. Is it me or does it seem like the technology has not developed much in 4000 years?

This is the best developed game I have seen in terms of installation. I was about half way through installation and my cd drive stopped responding. Happens when I install NWN and I dont hit browse first. With NWN and every other game I have to delete it from my hard drive and remove registry keys and start all over because it thinks it is already installed. This happened to me in KotOR and when I rebooted and poped the disc in again it basically started installing were it left off which is the way it should work. This made me a happy camper.

you havent even gotten to the best parts. Im going to say the first planet is boring and it gets better but somewhere around the middle of the game a part happens that really makes this game out of the ordinary.

It has a really dramatic great story.

Isn’t Star Wars supposed to be “A long time ago”. Also I think these games are supposed to take place thousands of years before the Star Wars Movies. :D

Seriously though, I personally thought the first KOTOR game was truly excellent. I had a lot of fun playing it. I agree with the others about the 2nd one not having as good of a story. I do think the 2nd one had a little better replay value though, at least as far as playing once as a good character and once as an evil one.

No swoop bike upgrades are available in the game, although several characters in the game discuss them. You just have to learn the courses, figure out which pads to aim for, and practice.

This is a good site for hints on KOTOR and many other games. This link takes you straight to the KOTOR section:

Good luck and have fun!

[/QUOTE]If it is frustrating you there is a mod out there that will make all the pads appear in a straight line allowing you to beat the times easy.
