I have been playing it for days and I am quite addicted to it. However, it is recommended to install the beta patch (version 1.01b) if you are running boards with Intel 845/850 chipset.

Secondly, there are a couple of nasty bugs which you would want to stay clear off. Be prepared for it: (spoiler--scroll down)

1. Swoop racing - Do not finish too good in the Taris race or you will end up trying to beat up a better time from *amatures* in Tatooine. For example, my best time in Taris was 00:22:xx and I have to best the amatures' time in Tatooine with about the same time (00:22:xx) BUT with a standard swoop, which is almost imspossible...unless you have Jedi-like reflexes. My advice is to win the Taris course with a less-than-better-time like 00:38:xx or something.

2. Tatooine - in the Sand People camp, only open the cell door of the Jawas prisoners. Otherwise Mission's bother (if you have not had the quest to recue him) will not spawn later if his cell was opened earlier. FYI, his cell is the one opposite of the cell room of the Jawas prisoners.

3. Stats bug - For some unknown reason, some NPCs stats would revert to the value of 8 during level up. So, it is advisable to save your game before doing the leveling up. If you encounter the bug, simple reload your savegame and try again.

That's all I can think off for the time being.

Ok, did the good guardian radiating-with-blue-light roleplaying. Naturally the next step was being so evil, I'd make malak look like a teletubbie. I'm already threequarters down the drain, killed lots of innocents, did horrible and unspeakable stuff and I look worse than the Emperor from Return of the Jedi. Now everyone with even a little force sensitivity knows that I'm of the darkside, especially jedi masters. Now they already know that I'm actually revan himself. Despite that fact and that I'm radiating pure evil here, they STILL train me to become a jedi!! WTH? what would you do? So a valid alternative would be to get your jedi training at the sith academy at korriban. But they never exploited that path: you have to eradicate the entire sith academy, there is no other outcome. Very dissappointing.

Also: the items you can get for the lightside make you practically a demi god: who can withstand the force power of someone with 22 wisdom (17+5)? And the solari crystal for the lightsaber: major powerboosts+add. damage to darkside but restricted to light side? Where's the dark side counterpart? All we get is a pair of gloves that give lightsaber focus and specialization and a headband with +2DEX (IIRC) and +8 stealth! Dissappointing.

But despite the fact that the lightside is more indepth than the dark side, this game surely rocks the boat! Did you check out the eye-candy? This is the first game IMO that actually gives great usage to FSAA & ANI. What a great improvement!

[ADD] Ok, I've now also finished the game on the dark side and I retract my previous statement: the game does seem a little awkward at the start of the dark side, but in the end it all comes down really nice! Way to go Bioware!! :D

IIRC, you don't have to eradicate the academy on Korriban.
