Any game that requires a patch is buggy ;)
As to the quests, I think they could have done a better job there. It really is all too easy to mess up a number of quests.
Nightowl2
|
Ok, so now I completely explored the first map and took care of the orcs and the plague, but there is one thing left, the royal graveyard. How do I gain access to it?
Oh! I cheated and duped a third antidote. I saw when I went to the third npc, that there was a choice saying "I found two antidote, but gave them to other people already" what happen when you chose it? |

Yeah, I pickpocketed the last antidote and gave it to the 3rd victim too. Actually it doesn't matter much if you manage to save him/her because there isn't any rewards or consequences. [ 01-21-2003, 11:35 PM: Message edited by: Paladin2000 ] |
No, I mean the gate to the royal graveyard is locked, and I can't pick the lock. I didn't get in it, yet.
I think you get 20k xp for each of the 3 guys you save from the plague. I was hoping for at least 1 rep point each. :( And I only got 1 rep point for exposing the doctor. Maybe it's because I took care of the orcs first. I got 5 points for that. If the doctor had given 5 points too, that would have been a lot in such a short time. |

Oh, in that case, the gate will only be unlocked after you escaped from Iona's dungeon, which is tied to the Stormfist castle quest. I think you get 20k xp for each of the 3 guys you save from the plague. Anyway, it is good to acquire "wisdom" early in the game, thus maximizing the XP accumulations. Maybe it's because I took care of the orcs first. I got 5 points for that. I have maxed wisdom for my level.

The designers were expecting players to choose which two victims would get the antidotes. However, many bright gamers (is there any other kind? ;) ) went the pickpocket route, thereby saving all three and getting extra xp as well.
The game is a little odd in the way it hands out rep points. Maybe they did that so you'd be sure to complete as many quests as possible. I never bothered with wisdom myself; it doesn't really do all that much for you. By the way, I think you mentioned having a mage. If you haven't already, start working on hell spikes. I know that spell doesn't sound like much, but you will be needing it later in the game when fire and lightning aren't too effective.
Nightowl2
|

Yes, rep points distribution does not make much sense. Sometimes, you get points for things that are not so special, and then you do something big, and get none. Wisdom is usefull, I think mine give me 15% more xp, now. (Or was it 10%) I think I have 2-3 levels in Hell Spikes, but I really like lightning so far, it's fast, and never miss. I also learned that last elemental spell, that do Lightning, Fire and Poison damage, but it's not as strong as my Maxed Lightning bolt spell, for now. Reputation seems to have only 1 use in the game. that is to enable you to get a key of Nericon Garden from Merchant Blake.
