Um, sorry, but I don't think that's exactly a good change. While it's nice that the main character isn't wielding a sword, I certainly don't want to be seeing guns in my Final Fantasy. Sorry, but that just totally ruins the atmosphere for me.</font>
It does?

Isn't the game meant to be set in the future; hence the guns etc. I suppose Square are trying to do something different, but you may be right. Changing Final Fantasy so much might put people off it....

So you prefer old-school fantasy with swords and wizards and so forth?

The first 6 FFs were old-school fantasy. The future stuff didn't come in until FF7. I much prefer it to the future stuff. I'd actually really like them to pick a time period and stick with it; either go future or stay old school. I don't like the guns and the swords at the same time.

You never know, Final Fantasy X-2 could be a real flop! Maby changing Yuna too much will ruin the whole game!

I haven't gotten to try FFX yet. I'm sure I'll get the chance soon. I heard its pretty good, but I'll have to judge for myself, of course.

And that was exactly what I was thinking. Usually, when a character is changed like that, things don't work out that well. Everyone is used to the old character, and everything about the new character just seems wrong. I guess we'll have to wait and see though.

A question LS.

Did you find FFVIII and FFIX to be very good. (If you haved played them)

Was there anything that you found annoying or somthing that could have been improved in either game? Cause I'm thinking about picking up a copy of them.

I haven't played much FF9, but what I have played (up to Disc 2) I have liked so far. It has that old-school atmosphere that I like. The graphics are wonderful, in my opinion. The battle system isn't anything new, so that shouldn't be a problem.

FF8 has more of the futuristic atmosphere that I don't like. But don't get me wrong, even though I don't like it, I still did enjoy it (and FF7 as well); just not as much as the others. FF8 is kind of strange because the monsters level up with you, meaning that even if you reach max level, monsters are going to be that much harder. I don't know how much I liked that. The draw system for magic is kinda strange, and the junction system can be confusing at first.

The storylines are pretty good on each. The big mini-game for each is a card game, and they can be addictive. You'll spend a good amount of time on each.

I'd say if you enjoy FFs, you should give them both a try. I've enjoyed all of them so far. If you liked FF7, you'll probably like FF8 more than FF9, however.

I feel strange that FFX-2 will have a female lead character ( Yuna ). I much prefer a male lead character though. I have the dire feeling that Yuna will turn out to be a weak lead character as Zidane in FF9.

I think Terra (FF6)was one of the best lead characters. There's nothing wrong with having a female lead character. Besides, Zidane was a guy, so you can't say that all male lead characters are good (even though I thought he was fine).
