Dunno about two minutes, but here's a video of it being done in seven: http://speeddemosarchive.com/demo.pl?Morrowind_730

I doubt I have to give a spoiler warning, but in case you've only just got out of bed: SERIOUS SPOILER INVOLVED

*cough* unrelated to topic spoiler spam *cough*.

I mean geez guys, Ivellis has admitted himself that he's barely played the game - so do links like that really have a place in this topic? It's not as if he asked for it. Hints/tips/advice, I believe it was, not how to finish the ruddy thing whilst you're having breakfast.

Sorry, a couple of people stated interest in seeing the video and I was too lazy to PM them both .

As for advice on getting into the game, whew. There are *a lot* of ways to get into Morrowind! I'd just stick to the main quest for a while until you're comfortable enough to explore, it's reasonably easy to follow and quite entertaining too! The best thing about starting out in Morrowind is that it's hard to mess up. You can succeed with pretty much any character and any method of playing, so don't worry too much about choosing the correct skills or joining the wrong guild. Just keep it simple and have fun, you'll get to grips with it in no time!

Well I've made my character...Telryn an Imperial (I think?) warrior with heavy armour and big weapons. He is a mercenary, I'd say. Will kill if he has to, although he knows some things are morally wrong.

The problem is WoW! So much I need to do on the game I never play Morrowind.

I'll give it a go possibly when I get in tonight, or tomorrow before I go out.

Uh, oh. Please tell me that the robber you might chance to meet on the road between Seyda Neen and Pelgiad is not an important character. Because, in my game, he is pushing up Hackle-ho leaf. How about the others? I've met at least one other vagrant villian, on the road near Hla Oad (sp). He was a lot tougher (at least for me, at the time). Forget If I killed that one or ran.

Depends what you mean by "important." You can get quests out of a few of those rogues, but only little sub-quests, nothing essential or even relevant to the main quest, afaik. As a general rule, if you kill somebody essential to the MQ you'll get a message recommending you reload (you don't have to, mind). What you have to watch out for are characters that could affect guild or house quests, because here you won't find out that you've messed up until it's too late!

Personally, I never kill anybody that looks important unless I have a reason to, although I've randomly killed dozens of peasants and rogues and never had a serious problem from it.
