Some of those things Radek mentioned are artifacts. These below are unenchanted one.
Daedric Left Gauntlet: Kogoruhn, Bleeding Heart. Tel Vos, Aryon's Chambers (turedus talanian). Daedric Right Gauntlet: Kogoruhn, Bleeding Heart. Daedric Shield Dren Plantation, or just kill some golden saint Daedric Greaves Also in Dren Plantation Daedric Boot Galom Daeus - Berne Vampire headquaters Daeric Cuirass Somewhere in Mournhold, Plaza Brindisi Dorom. Daedric Right Pauldron In the tower of Castle Karstaag(Solsthiem) Daedric Left Pauldron Same place in Plaza Brindisi Dorom, Mournhold Daedric Helms Ghostgate did I miss anything? |
Yeah, there's also a kickass Daedric helmet in a cave somewhere. I forgot the exact location, but it's an ancient burial cave. After you fought your way through hordes of skeletons and Liches, you can find it on the dead body of someone who's buried in some kind of Viking ship, in the lower level of the cave. If i'm not mistaken it's somewhere south of Molag Mar.

Not to forget Ebon Mail - the best cuirass in the game. Same as Dragonbone AND permanent 50 point Shield to add yet another 50 to AC. Most of my mages used exclusive Medium Armor even before adamandium, high ordinator and all that bongo. Just a combo of ordinator and ebon mail (which is fairly easy to get for a mage if you know the game) with BoBS on for travels. (Why not use Light? Well, it ain't that much lighter to start with and it doesn't train Endurance. I play my mages "pure". No real melee. Hence the importance of training Endurance with armor. Besides the best set of regular game Light has an AC of 208 and the best Medium has 250).

Ebony Mail has some disadvantages:
1. You must be a member of the Temple. It's a temple quest item, which is available only if you have the corresponding quest. 2. You get it late in the game. The Ebony Mail quest is the last Temple quest. 3. In the plain Morrowind, Ebony Mail is the only piece of Medium Armor, which is worth of mentioning. In the other words, you will have to train Medium Armor only because you will want to make use of the cuirass. Well, there are plugins, which offer valuable medium armor and make Medium Armor a skill worth of noticing. |
Indoril is not as bad as people think. It's durable and almost as good as glass. Furthermore it has a very important quality - it is dead easy to get and very abundant.
This was minted specifically for mages. Mages have no problems in reaching the skill levels needed to obtain the high TT ranks. Conjuration always explode when you start to summon stuff. A determined mage could easily get some Indoril and proceed to complete the Tribunal quests as the first thing on the agenda. Furthermore the TT quests will bring you to locations where you have to do minor main quest things as well, so you can kill two birds with one stone. One other thing. Looks. My latest active character were a Nord sorceress and quite frankly I found this outfit http://www.dsr.kvl.dk/~maddog/berglot.jpg far more "in character" than butt-ugly deadric stuff. (Note that Dreugh is used in this picture as it was before Ebon Mail - still quite good and enough to stand the pain while casting Absorb Health on touch). Regardless this has been debated endlessly on the official forum. At least it was when I was still active. Opinions differ, but I still maintain the following rule of thumb: Unarmored: Only worth anything if you can enchant with enhance unarmored. It becomes very effective when the skill hits 200. Never demand repairs either. Light: Rogue/thiefs Medium: Pure mages Heavy: Warriors PS: I have never owned or played any expansions. This information is only based on my experimentation in regular MW. PPS: If someone remembers the Dwemer Potion Machine and wonders if I am the same maddog as the one who coded that, then yes - I am that maddog. |
Thanx a bunch Im off on my jorney to get all the lovely armory goodness!!! thanx again!

OH! Im sry for posting again but mad=dog has convinced me of working on my medium armour so.. Where exactly would i get a set of addy,or high ordinator armour?
do i have to put and order in with taht custom armour guy? If so where can i get a bunch of raw addy? |
As I pointed out I have never been near High Ordinator ware(tm) because I have never been to Mournhold. Sadly. You can get regular Indoril stuff off any Ordinator in the muncipality of Vivec. Just be careful. They are easy kills if you hit them hard and determined, but they can be a pain if they close in on you and/or start to get spells off. None the less it's the best risk free abundant armor you will find.
If you start the TT quests pronto and are able and willing to train/boost the necessary skill(s) you may wind up with some light and VERY good armor indeed. Much better than the glass junk. Note that I have spend a _lot_ of time experimenting with armor so I know just where to go and when to go there. I really wish to spoil you as little as possible. PS: I find that people immidiately disregard Medium Armor without trying it. That is an unhealthy pratice. Try to start out a new character and notice how easily you get good armor. Thats the benefit of MA and that is the way to go for a character that need to survive melee just enough to get spells off. PPS: This old page of mine compares core MW armor sets. They are broadly optimized for both AC and enchantment. http://www.dsr.kvl.dk/~maddog/armor/ notice the low weight difference between Light and Medium compared to the high difference between Medium and Heavy. This assumes the use of Fists of Randagulf. Some argue that the wraithguards are better even with the HP loss. |
