Yes definately the Tuigan Bow. I always was bothered by the fact it was a shortbow, so I made a modified longbow with similar attributes that rangers and other archers out there will probably appreciate. Actually, this bow will most help those who cannot attain higher mastery than specialized in longbows. But it still would be considered the best bow in the game.

Elvish Longbow +4
This bow is a rare sight outside of the close-knit society of the elves. It is a longbow of sorrel yew and laced with burnished mithril vine traceries, not only beautiful, but functional. Thus made, this bow is capable of firing farther and faster than most others.

STATISTICS:

Equipped Abilities: +2 Dexterity
Combat Abilities: 3 shots per round
THACO: +5 bonus
Damage: +2, plus Strength Bonus
Weight: 3
Speed Factor: 1
Proficiency Type: Longbow
Type: 2-handed
Requires: 12 Strength
Not Usable By:
Druid
Cleric
Mage

For early gaming, the flail of ages rocks...give it to a cleric afterwards.
Celestial fury of course rocks...it has a lot of magic properties.
The talking sword is the best sword for minsc for a long time.
The pixie prick dagger has a good sleeping effect.
The short bow you buy in trademeet that shoots magic arrows is very good for Imoen or a thief.
The belm scimitar for Jaheira.

Definitely Daystar. You can deal over a thousand damage to undead with it. I equiped it with Minsc and went straight through the Shade Dungeoun, no problem. But getting it is a little tough.

Celestial Fury, Daystar, Adjatha the Drinker...

Where do you get the talking sword (i forgot)

hello??? let's get a little love for Stonefire here. available in chapter 2 right along with the blade of roses, a +3 axe that does fire damage and for less than 5000 gp. if you're proficient in axes it will serve you far into ToB (frostreaver's ok too, but undead arent immune to fire like they are to acid/cold).

sling of seeking. +2 and STR damage bonus.

blackblood. +3 club that does acid damage.

belm. +2 scimitar that gives an extra attack.

arbane's sword. +2 short sword that makes user immune to hold and hastes once/day for 12 seconds.

So far from chapter two( Weapons I use for different characters):

Super weapons: Staff of Magi, Carsomyr, and yes, Sling of Everard

Great weapons: Celestial Fury, Flail of Ages, StoneFire, Frostreaver, Hammer of Thunderbolts, Blackblood(underestimated), Staff of Rynn, Tuigan Bow, and Azuredge

Good weapons ( for abilities - some are really great ): Daystar, Dragonslayer, Jerrod's Mace(nice against demons), Everard's Morning Star(underestimated), Adjatha The Drinker( nice immunities), Defender of Easthaven(I use this most with Flail of Ages on Minsc), Sling of Seeking( with girdle of hill giant str and str dmg bonus - yoikes), and HeartSeeker.

Preferred ranged items: arrows of biting and piercing.

Carsomyr is great in melee but I hate uncontrolled dispells.

I also think the staff of air and fire are great to use against the appropriate npcs. Staff of striking seems fun for backstabbing with but isn't really great due to it's limited charges.

My favorite has to be the Staff of the Magi. Dispells, spell trap, invis, +5 enchantment, immunity to charm, 3 times a day fireball-lightening, ac+2, saves+2, pro evil - wow. This is an example of a really really great weapon.

Rifthome Axe, Azuredge, that flaming dagger and the flaming Dart
All these weapons provide unlimited missile attacks with decent damage
In combination with Boots of Speed you can survive almost any battle unscathed.

For Melee weapons: Daystar, Blade of the Roses and Warblade+4 are available very early (if you fly through the underdark) and of course Lilarcor

Impaler Spear, essentially +13

Not quite :( I discovered that the +10 isn't counted towards critical hit damage (ie: isn't doubled). This makes me fear that the Staff of the Ram isn't the best backstab weapon in the world ... I'll have to test it when I get back to ToB with my new party.
