maybe I will dump Yoshimo now and pick up jan for awhile. I could use som extra spellpower.

Plus, Yoshimo's accent irks me. Anyone else?

Jan, cause you only need a half thief.

w/o Jan's equipments Jan is actually a fairly weak thief. Dex only 17 compared to Yoshimo's 18, but his equipments are the saving grace to the otherwise mediocre skills.
Also Imoen's thief skills are passable - just no good for scouting. Nalia's skills are pathetic sans detect trap.

yoshimos good at fighting too and is good standing back and fireing arrows.

How can you have Yoshimo and Imoen the same time? He dies in Chapter 4 - unless you cheat - bad boy ;(

Yoshimo isn't even any good as a thief. He entirely sucks donkeys and if you have Nalia with a knock spell you hardly need a thief anyway.

Yoshimo is your best bet (well Jan also but its your choice), cuz he can use special snares and the other npc's cannot (unless of course if your main character is a bounty hunter), although he is not as funny as Minsc and Jan Jansen hes a good pick if you want some traps (unlike Jan whos set traps skill is horrible).

Yoshimo is a great thief. He goes up levels really quickly.
There is however a hitch later in the game.
