If i remember correctly, the only way to permanently slay the Tarrasque is with a wish spell--maybe even in conjunction with something else? it's been a long time since i've seen its stats and what not.

My god! I'm SO glad that they didn't put the tarrasque into SoA or ToB! Although.... my Kensai has a better THAC0 hehehe (-14 main hand, -10 offhand). The tarrasque is a truly gruesome deadly and evil creature and I'm glad I had to sneak by it only once in an AD&D campaign (yes, my DM was THAT mean). Fortuneatly my low level fighter/mage didn't wake it up.
