yes .. an 8-sided hitdice does sound more to the truth ..
Thus making the max.hp 64 , which would count in the umberhulks and yuan-ti's

A monsters Hit Dice are the same as your character levels.
An eight hit die monster is basically an 8th level monster.
A ten hit die monster is 10th level, etc...
