IIRC, the same thing happened to me and it was the lightning key...no big deal as you get multiple lightning wands throughout the game. Like everyone said, just budge all the way over to the right and the 'traps' won't activate. Or if you have haste, I found if you haste everyone you can run right through and the traps don't activate that way either.
