If you have Jaheira in your party, you're bound to happen into the start of her quest. Basically, sometime when you're travelling between areas you will run into a group of folks who are attacking another individual. Once you kill the attackers, the victim will ask you to take him to a house in the docks section. If you choose to take him there (before the poison kills him), that will start Jaheira's quest.
