Because in PnP Firkraag, being an ancient red, would kick ass all all over Drizzt if it was one-on-one.

I thought firkrag was only a adult dragon? all descriptions of ancient reds I have seen give a more powerful impression then firkrag.

Icingdeath grants TOTAL immunity to fire. Even Demon fire! Remember Errtu? An ancient red couldn't touch Drizzt with his breath weapon. However, if luck were against our hero, that damn dragon claw is about 3-5 feet long.....

it is pointless to determine who wins. whoever writes the book decides who killes whom, got it?

I hate series where the good guys never lose no mater how tough the enemy is, they should just die like ordenary people.

Dreamer128 05-06-2001 02:06 PM

What is the big difference between red and black dragons?
And what about gold and silver.

In a game like BG, my money would be on Drizzt as all of the advantages of being a red dragon a negated by insufficient AI.

In a more realistic situation, where the dragon is intelligent and a will to live, mobility and reach will win it every time for the dragon.

I think its pretty discrimenating by the way that the colour in wich you are born determans wheter you´re good or evil, its kinda like the sixties when they told the black people they were inferieur to the white just because their skin had a different colour.

Yea and the black dragons being oppressed by the silver and gold dragons must be a symbol of racism! and gary gygax must think midgets are only good for working in the forge because of the description of dwarves in d&d!.......its just a GAME.

*sigh* i dont know if this is true of Faerun as well but in Krynn Metallic Dragons are considered good because of the god who created them and chaotic are considered bad becos of the same reason.
so good: gold, silver, bronze, brass, copper

and evil: red, blue, green, black and white

Lest we forget about the "dark" skinned drow that everyone hates... i agree, though parallels can be drawn to real life society, it is, though we hate to admit it, JUST A GAME.

(YELLS IN BACKROUND) "SAY IT AIN"T SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
