This is like an investment decision, which is often depend on the net present value of the project. In BG's case, despite its age, the net present value (NPV) is still positive.

You should try out BG1. It is true that in many aspects BG2 is better, but BG1 most certainly has the better storyline. It's a shame you played BG2 before BG1, as I think the understanding of your character's being greatly enriches BG2.
As you can see by the many positive reactions, is is a good idea to try out BG1.

In the words of Accord:

Buy it!! http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...es/biggrin.gif

WELL WORTH YOUR MONEY!!!!

Incidentally, it is possible (at least in England) to buy BG1 & TOTSC as a double pack for around £12, about US $8. Dirt cheap in my opinion considering the many hours of gameplay involved.

That's about US $18. £1 = 1.5$ (ish)

This is great...I think I will finish up this first pass through BGII and then get BGI. I like the idea of building up my character to import into BGII. As it is I am a pretty puny sorcerer, with my moments...but only level 12 at Windspear Hills...the Asylum...I could really use some beefing up and don't want to cheat. So I will look forward to BGI as a 'character building' experience!
