I thought Aerie was a great character. My party all the way through to the end was -

Deadblow - Fighter/Womaniser/Alcoholic
Minsc + Rat - Ranger with rat
Nalia - Whingeing Mage
Aerie - Wingless Mage/Cleric
Jaheira - Stroppy Fighter/Druid
Yoshimo - Bounty hunter/Bastard.

All have quests/deep involvements and all performed really well. Yes yes I know but please don't spoil.

Jaheria is really a good character:
Pro:
-she can wear good armor
-she can fight
-she got excellent anti-mage insect spells
-summon fire elemental and woodland beings are nice additions
-she got hell of a long quest

Con:
-she whines/naggs
-she whines/naggs more

Madodie - same thing happened to me. I thought oops I screwed up there, but went on with the game in any case...wasn't in the least disappointed.
