i've been playing with my sorceress and i've fallen in love with offencive spells, the first is death spell and the second is spell trap...
But i think that spell trap is the better of them. On the defensive side stoneskin is defenently the best followed by fireshield, remember that i'm only level 13 so i haven't tryed the high level spells yet. |
The spells I use most are:
Priest - Insect plague, completely disrupts enemy mages Mage - Magic Missile, although Chromatic Orb is better once you reach higher levels Defensive spells are also a must, I always use bless and chant if I know a battle is coming up, stoneskin and haste is good to include in your preparation casting routine. I agree with Melusine though, that it's the overall strategy which is most important, and using good combinations of spells. ------------------ http://www.gldb.com/wayno/epona2.gif Time is an illusion. Lunchtime doubly so. |
yeah yeah, unless you use armor of faith, you never know what it does
those are the spells you should look into: armor of faith doom spook |
Stop time, see you, with it any spell is effective!!

I have a preference for Shapeshift and Level Drain myself.
And I agree with Melusine. Its combinations of spells that make them worth it. Timestop would'nt be worth your lvl 9 slot if not for all those Magic Missles. ------------------ Why? |
Wow Hold it there
Armor of Faith the best? let's see Best defensive would be Stoneskin and protection against magic weapons combined (i normally fill a spell sequencer with Stoneskin, fire schield and Spirit armor) Best offecive is a spell i haven't seen in here Abi Dalzim's Horrit Wilthing 1d8 damage per level on every enemy in sight That will soon give you about 60 per enemy on averige And save wil only half it not stop it So that is still 30 per enemy Timestop is very effecive especiall combind with a Abi Dalzims Horrit wilthing Try this strategy if you are with a party with few people in the mind flayer dungeon Timestop enter room with mindflayers Abi Dalzims Horrit wilting Maybe a Cloudkill from a cloudkill wand Leave room Close door Instand Kills ------------------ http://content.communities.msn.co.uk...&ID_Message=66 The Legend Master Necromancer Prince Rikard T'Aranaxz of Natri'x Clanmaster and Mental Father of the OHF Ramanish of Neathan'Calith High Priest and son of the Eternal Phoenix Lord and General of the Army of the West |

therefore, if a lvl 20 priest cast 4 of them, he will be immune to ANY DMG (disclaimer: ... ... ) that makes a berserk/cleric a very desirable choice and it is level 1, but I shouldnt say it is the best but one of the best. |
Doom, spook and armor of faith, I used them once, but didn't like them. Good thing you brought these spells up. Now I think I will try them again, but with little more patience this time.
By the way, the cleric spell sanctuary is really a great spell too. If you are facing undead, just let the cleric cast sanctuary and start turning undead. All annoying little shadows will die, and the bigger ones will run away. Then put in the rest of the group. Or you can also use sanctuary combined with blade barrier, and you can kill everone by just standing next to them. |
