I suppose it also depends upon the DM (or game mechanics, whichever) running the Drow elves opposed to me. I never did play under a DM whose tactics (when in small groups) or strategy (in larger groups) could equal my own. (not bragging, simply a statement of fact) Even their powerful demons could not best me:

Azred: ...but if you do, know that you make yourself my servant.

I don't think the drow truly desire to conquer the surface world, they seem to prefer the shadows of the underdark.

But the Drow are scheming the whole timeur in the Ust Natha about attacking the surface elves.... that would mean that they are actually planning on taking over the surface world [img]tongue.gif[/img] [img]tongue.gif[/img] ... or they just want the Elves dead :(
