To put things in perspective, the XP you get from killing the tarrasque in PnP is 107,000.
Ur right armisael, in real PnP there's NO way you would advance 17-23 levels in 180 days (BG1 + BG2) of game time. That's like joining a company as a trainee and being promoted to Managing Director in half a year! Think of how long it took Drizzt to become a level 15 ranger. |
I think it would've been fine if you deleveled to level 1 in the game (or some low level). There was something grand in BG I about wandering off alone with Imoen, both being level 1 or 2, and knowing that death could be just around the corner.

To further put things in perspective, take an average high elf war party of forty. The highest level possible elf in it will be level three. Now look at the group of mercenaries in the temple district sewers, or the one in the den of seven vales - every one of them are above level ten. Realistically, they'd probably all have gone down in Faerun history. Meh.
|
And yet more perspective - Viconia at the end of my game had leveled up higher than the infamous Fzoul Chembryl, former high priest of Bane and now Iyachtu Xvim.

Bane? isn't that some sot of kid from the world of Arianus?
anyways i also think leveling up wnet way to fast in bg1 you were incedibly happy when you killed a winterwolf and gained 975XP and nmow you get 1000XP just for learning a spell that is just rediculus have you notest after killing bodhi you get 110.000XP per person just becoz you enterd chapter 7 maybe your character should get very srong being a son of a god and all but your npc's shouldn't like they did in Torment where the namelees one get more than the rest |
Bane was one of the three evils 'till Cyric forced him into early retirement.
|
Armisael, more like permanent redundancy - with a golden parachute floating straight down into oblivion.

Armisael and Memnoch, I couldn´t agree more, the XP you get for giving a little boy his lost teddybear from a terrified halfling thief is ridiculous, I had Minsc kill him the second time and the XP was the ame.. And well Bodhi can linger under the "villians who returns to piss you off more than once" which might justify a higher XP award but then Firekragg would be worth enourmos amounts of XP and furthermore.... where the heck is all the gold and jewels???
And yes I also think it would be better to lower the level arising and have more profiencies or something so you can flesh out your character more an it would be easier for a BG3, but maybe the guys at Black Ilse has something figured out for the next sequal.. |
Yeah, I was kind of left wondering where a red dragon over a millenia old got off with 2000 gp, a greenstone ring, a crap cloak and sword that's about as much use to me as tits on a bull. I don't fight Firkraag anymore, though. Edwin got to me, and I'm not that stupid, either. : )

Well I like a nice red purse to give to my sweet jaheira so I usually kills that ovestuffed so of a handbag, but everytime I´m disapointed at the treasure value..
