The robe of vecna is in the collectors edition cd(one of the merchants it) and the staff of the magi is owned by one of the twisted rune members.

Yes, the Robe of Vecna can be bought from Dierdre in the Adventurer's Mart for about 28000GP. The Staff of Magi is on the female mage in the Twisted Rune world by having a Rogue Stone and going through the portal found in the Bridge District. The Ring of Gaxx is found after you beat Kangaxx the Lich and then Kangaxx the Demi-lich in the Docks District. Supposedly, there is also a Ring of Gaxx after you beat Galvery in the Harper Hold, but I don't know for sure on this one. The Robe of Vecna is the best of the 3 items, as it decreases your casting time by 4, and gives you +10% magic resistance. Enjoy!

You do not get a ring of Gaxx off of galvarey you get a ring of wizardry which gives you +2 6th, +1 7th and +1 8th level spell I believe which is quite nice when it is combined with the ring of acuity from the planar sphere.

The ring of gaxx is better though.............

You can't say one is better than they other they do different things, if you want an extra 8th level spell the ring of Gaxx is useless to you.

It's like the cheesy old which weapon is the best argument-there is no 'best' weapon because there is no weapon in the game that can be used by every single class.

They are both good items though.
