hmm... maybe your right im being a racialist ... an orc can be thief in his own society and a human in his... but an half-orc cannot be a thief both in the human as well as an orcish society... i dont know if im right but im just guessing that half-breeds , like half orcs or halfelves are sometimes discriminated in the d&d relam..(true though that they can speak both languages of thier father and mother as well as have the better of both traits)

It's funny to play the thuggish rogue. He uses the first male voice which sounds like a bit like Ah-nold. I think some of the twentieth century gangers fit the mold of the half orc rogue. But I did find out that any proficiency slots on 2 handed style after the first one are wasted. Will have to test out whether he can backstab with a two handed sword.

Don't bother, you can't. Put your proficiencies into katanas, it's the best weapon you can backstab with.

You can't backstab with a weapon a thief can't use (Just like you can't pickpocket in Plate mail). Armisaels right. Katana is THE backstab weapon.

I am finding the tweaked half orc fighter-thief (tweaked to remove the dual wield proficiencies and put them in crossbow--as if he actually uses it) is pretty damn frightening. For some reason he has a base AC of 4 instead of 6 (a racial thing?) and that leaves him with a -6 with pretty mediocre leather (the shadow thieves quest) and -10 with mediocre +1 full plate. He also has a -1 THACO as a level 9 fighter. Scary stuff. I decided to keep Nalia instead of put Imoen in the party, so it's Geedubya, the three evils, Jaheria and Nalia, Nalia getting ragged on constantly. And there's still romances going on too, perhaps his inteligence is high enough or something...
