oh, really? because I remember seeing it before I had even gone down the elevator, and wondering what it did, spend a good 30 seconds trying to click on it. Alas, no icon appeared so I was later to assume it could not be used until the quest was received.

My route through the game for the last 40 or so Ascensions is such that i give Z'ant his first two quest items upon my initial entry into Lower Marten's Bluff, and often never go back. Then i "complete" Trynnton in one go, and head towards Arnika for the first time, with maybe a side trip to visit some graves.
