I played both wiz8 and BG2 and I have to say I enjoyed them both. The big plus for wiz is the character building, it's just too great how you can bring up skill regardless to rank, just with practice. With BG2 you only learn at level ups.
The plus for bg2 is that there's a lot more world out there(at least it took me way longer to complete, even without the expansion). I'm playing it again now, with throne of bhaal.
