hi judee!
i bought the flag before joining. :( V***V |
veselle,
Just assume that Kunar turned you in before you made it back to Marten's Bluff from your last visit to the Umpani Base (since everything had been going well prior to that point). I had started with the Umpani, finished maybe two of their quests and had visited Arnika after getting the first T'Rang quest but before actually doing it, which is how I had paid He'Li off. I was able to return the flag and get the second quest from the T'Rang, but before I could get credit for it (or when I got credit for it and was expecting another quest) the T'Rang turned on me...I had not even left Marten's Bluff! Having seen some posts here about Kunar's spy status, I just assumed that he had ratted me out and reloaded to the game I had saved at the point where I had just entered the Umpani Base, but had not bought the flag...killed Kunar and everything worked out OK (with the exception of having supplies handy on that side of the map lol). |
End Game Spoiler (Big time)
* * * * * * * * * * * * * * * You don't have to finish the T'rang or the Umpani quests to win the game. I was up to the "destroy-the-tranporter" quest for the Umpani and the "find=the-Co-ord-for-Savant-ship" quest for T'rang. I Did not finish either quest. I went to Assension point with out either race backing me up and won the game. Clearly the game was made with multiple endings. At my end game I was provided with 3 options to end the game. Great Great Game. |
There is a way to ally the T'Rang and the Umpani.
It all centers on finding, and rescuing Drazic and Rodan, the two missing persons from either the T'Rang and Umpani (respectively). You cannot do this until the Rapax Away Camp appears, and obviously, you can't have completed the last quest for either of the two races. You *can* play a double agent and do this - so long as you pay off He'li (I never even had to dispense with Kunar, I was hoping I wouldn't have to, he's my source of musket balls - lol ). If you want to know the exact steps - read on. MAJOR SPOILER!! > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > -Complete the T'Rang Quests up to the final mission (find the Umpani operative, infiltrate and destroy the Umpani). -Complete the Umpani Quests up to the point where you have to directly sabotage the T'Rang. -Pay off He'li (I'm not sure exactly when you need to do this, just keep checking with her throughout the course of the quests) and take care of Kunar if necessary - I know that some people report problems with him, but I've never had one. I did accuse him of being a traitor once (after I pickpocketed the key to his back room and found the portal to Marten's Bluff) but all he said was "You wish you'd thought of it first". Maybe this was enough to keep him from ratting on me - I really don't know. -Enter Rapax Rift -In my game, I actually fought my way through the Rift and into the castle before visiting the Away Camp. I spoke with Ferro, and he urged me to join the Templar faction. I exited that dialogue, spoke with him again, and he informed me that the Rapax King wanted to see me at the Away Camp, apparently to interrogate two prisoners he'd captured. I became a Templar, then left for the Away Camp. -Head to the Rapax Away Camp (otherwise known as Wilderness Clearing). I'm assuming that you can come here without being a Templar as well, and maybe without speaking to Ferro, but haven't actually tested this (I'm waiting for my next time around). I spoke to the King, he gave me a key to the stockade and asked me to interrogate the prisoners. -Find Drazic and Rodan. Follow their instructions (it's pretty straightforward once you speak to them and recruit them). You can now return to the King and when he asks you if the prisoners know anything of his alliance with the Dark Savant. Note that recruiting Drazic or Rodan will destroy any faction that you had with the Rapax Templars, so make sure that you're done in Rapax Rift/Castle before you do this. I'm not sure if there is a way to successfully rescue these two without angering the Rapax, or when exactly this part of the quest can be completed, I just know the first time I heard about either prisoner was from Ferro in the Rapax Castle. If anyone else has anything to add, go for it, these are just my findings. [ 01-08-2002: Message edited by: Erydian ] [ 01-10-2002: Message edited by: Erydian ]</p> |
