03.09.07 is that March or September? I hate when they put the date that way!

Looks good. Lots of mindless violence, but one thing bothered me, why has every man in this film have to be half-naked?

This looks awesome, I love the look of movies based on graphic novels/comics when the director tries to retain the feel of the drawn image.

There's a cool work of historical fiction also about this moment in history, called The Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield. Worth reading if you're into that sort of thing.

Meh. I can't say I'm impressed. The dialogue is cheesy, the visuals are... lacking and its romanticised. Sparta was never "good". Why does every film nowadays have to go on about "freedom"?

I think I'll be giving this one a miss.

Didn't they fight completely naked, historically? Or am I thinking of something else? I recall a friend of mine mentioning that it wasn't true to history because they had *some* clothing on.

The graphic novel was like that as well, I seem to recall, and it was a good read. And no, Spartans aren't "good" per se - they are, however, the heroes of this story. The story isn't exactly about Spartan society, it's about 300 men fighting a massive enemy to save their people and way of life. It kinda makes sense. This also isn't a documentary - of course it's romanticized.
