I saw on imdb.com that she was called "Arclite", but who is Psylocke?
|
Great movie, it was very epic! I'll just say this about the ending. It started out crappy but the very very last part...had stunned me!
|
I'll go see it tomorrow... Yeah, dang, I know...
So I've just got one question... will there be an X4? |
I see that this is a thread that is spoiler-free and I have comments and questions...so I have to ask them! Therefore, the following is heavy spoiler material for those that have not seen the movie. Don't ruin it for yourself. You'll enjoy the movie more by seeing it before reading below.
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . Spoilers: The biggest question is what the heck with Magneto at the end? I never read comics growing up. How did he start getting powers again? I Loved the special effects of Jean when she'd go into Phoenix-mode. From her face to her powers, it was a helluva trip! And that last part with Wolverine taking her on and her sniping pieces of skin off him...She could have killed him, right? She was just picking at him to warn him, right? I guess there was no chance at saving her alive? I suppose she would not have wanted to live after doing all that she had. They said she was a level 5. What the heck is that? What are the others? Is she the only one that was so strong? Rogue. If she's no longer a mutant, why did she go back to the mansion? What about that girl Kitty? Why the heck did the professor smile at Wolverine at the end of his life? Why did he accuse Wolverine of setting her free when he could easily know the truth of that with his own mind-reading powers? I thought I always heard say that Angel was one of the strongest mutants. I did not see him do anything to prove that. [ 05-28-2006, 12:55 AM: Message edited by: Larry_OHF ] |
Oh CRAP! I just read somewhere that I was supposed to stay after the credits to see something! What is it?
|
IIRC Angel wasn't that powerful. Its only when he became Arch Angel that he became a major bad ass

SPOILERS
. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . With Magneto.. I dunno. Maybe the 'cure' is only temporary. They never really told us that they did any long term studies on the effects of it. Wolverine can regenerate himself quickly, remember? I think Phoenix was trying her hardest, but Wolverine just kept regenerating, etc. I dunno. There's different levels of mutants.. from what I understand, Magneto, Xavier would be level 4-5. Jean/the Phoenix has by far the potential to be the strongest mutant and may have already reached that point. As for Rogue.. she loves bobby? Well.. remember the in the lesson Xavier was teaching, he shows that clip with the guy in a coma or something? At the end of the credits, it shows the nurse lady and the fellow... and the fellow suddenly pipes up, saying "hello, moira" in Xaviers voice, with the nurse, Moira, saying "Charles?!". In the lesson, xavier was talking about the ethics of transferring your conciousness and whatnot into another body. I assume him smiling at Wolverine is connected to all that. |
SPOILERS
- - - - - - - - - - Yeah, I don't think the cure is permanent. Probably it only last while ti's still in the body. I guess that someone that didn't want his power could use it with a prescription, take a shot every month or something like that. It also fix the moral problem. If it only last a while they can shoot mutants with it now as a weapon to stop criminals, then keep them medicated while in prison. If they're released they can then have their powers back. I think Phoenix did her best to disentegrate wolverine but he just regenerated too fast. Of course shw could have tried something else if she wanted. But I think even with all her powers, she was pushing her limit simulatnously raising all the water, disentegrating everyone, the building, flying, the wind... Part of her also wanted to die, so it affected her decision too. What I don't understand is why she killed Scott, he wasn't a menace and she seemed to be liking him. Yeah on the mutant power scale 5 is the highest and Magnneto/Xavier are probably 5, but they'd need to break the scale for Phoenix and give here a 6-7 I'd say. I also didn't see Psylocke, are you guys sure she was in the movie. Oh, and can you believe Magneto left Mystique behind? Not only did she was his most loyal mutant, she sacrificed herself for him, and she was beautifull too... [ 05-28-2006, 05:56 AM: Message edited by: Luvian ] |
Here's Acrlight's profile on wikipedia:

Just saw it last night, awesome movie. Easily the best of the three for mine. I thought 1 was excellent, 2 was good but not as good, but 3 was easily the best. It was brutal - lots of mutants getting offed, it was hardcore.
*spoilers* . . . . . . . . . I'm glad someone tipped me off about staying till the end as I was *devastated* when Professor X got blown to pieces by the Phoenix. Even though he may still be alive, the mutant "casualty" list read as follows: Callisto - offed Cyclops - offed Jean Grey/Phoenix - offed Magneto - got "humanised" and lost his powers (though it appears not all of them) Professor X - offed (though may have saved himself) Juggernaut - probably offed (assuming he was in the building that Jean demolished) Rogue - "humanised" hereself Mystique - got "humanised" Quill - offed Arclight - offed Psylocke - offed Spike - offed I'm sure there were more, but I can't remember their names...
