i've been waiting for vemon since they rolled this out sheesh its about time, he was the antithesis of spiderman after all.

The one that I want to see is Mysterio...my fave villain out of the Spiderman cartoons (I never read the comics.)
At least Topher Grace isn't appearing in a sequel to the Incredible Hulk. :D |

I think that a 2-hour section of Mysterio would be quick enough not to get redundant. And you could definitely whip up some unreal CGI for it.
Venom, I thought, was a really unique plotline. In the cartoons, I must've seen the first part of the two part Venom episode like 20 times, never saw the second part. |
I guess so. Maybe if they make a Spiderman 4, although according to Azred that might not happen.

Venom could easily take up the whole movie, so I hope they aren't in the mindset of "it's our last movie, let's just throw in as much as we can and hope it makes sense". There is still a chance of SM4, just not a great one if they can't get Tobey back.
I also heard a rumor that Bryan Singer has been asked to consult on X3 in order to save it. Being that he and the studio had a big falling out over him going to direct the new Superman flick, that could mean x3 is one big steaming pile of crap in it's current state. SM SPOILERS ************** Also, there were some spoilers out at Aint It Cool News that said MJ, Aunt May and Harry would bite the dust in SM3, probably due to contracts being up, and Gwen would stick around in the hopes they could get Tobey to do another movie. Sort of the comic in reverse. Of course, Sony immediately disputed this and had pics and links taken down from the site, so who knows... [ 03-04-2006, 07:45 AM: Message edited by: Marathon ] |
I read long ago on one of those movie sites that Hollywood was wanting more Spidermen than just 3, but the writer or somebody said she always intended this to be a trilogy set, and refused to go further.

Hope she changes her mind. There's soo much good stuff they can do with Spiderman.

If they are capping the series at three movies, I am kinda glad. It can only go so far before it becomes a waste of viewing time. They did amazing jobs with Spiderman I and II, hopefully III will be just as good.

To date, the only movie franchise to have survived more than three installments and still be worth watching is...James Bond.
No, I haven't seen anything official stating "there will be no more Spiderman movies" but the studios will have a really difficult time keeping all the majors returning for more sequels. Aunt May/Rosemary Harris probably will die in the third one, though, since she is elderly (but a really accomplished actress nonetheless). The reason I wouldn't suggest Venom for the movies is that he isn't a part of the full Spiderman myth, only something created later which, in my opinion, should never have happened. by the way....who can tell us when Venom first appeared? (and yes, I do know the correct answer) |
