Lord of the Rings :hidesbehindcouch:. Is one of the best movies and the worst usually those teen type of movies.

Have you seen Legend yet? Very short movie, sooo lame LOL. You'll crack up at the devil guy

Ladyzekke 02-19-2004 07:48 PM

Oh another, can't believe I forgot!

Movie: Signs

Has Mel Gibson in it. Nobody, including Mel, acts well. All act frikken slack like they are all on ludes or something, was the dumbest, stupidest thing I have seen recently. It left me actually with the same sentiment as the movie was, dazed, drooling and spacey... :D

Try this site. The guy gives some great reviews of some really bad movies. Some of my personal favorites:

</font>
 • Army of Darkness and Evil Dead: all about Bruce Campbell in those movie</font>
 • Attack of the Killer Tomatoes: so cheesy it is funny. The second one is even worse/better.</font>
 • Barbarella: a classic one, and for the guys a young Jane Fonda topless right in the beginning... :D</font>
 • The Beastmaster: love the bat creatures in this one.</font>
 • Cemetary Man: really trippy movie, but really cool zombie flick</font>
 • The Toxic Avenger: anything Troma is beyond cheesy</font>
 • Dead Alive: if you wondered why Peter Jackson made Lord of the Rings into an action flick, watch this movie. The kung-fu priest is just classic!</font>
 • Death Race 2000: it has Sylvester Stallone in it, enough said.</font>
 • Flash Gordon: so bad it rivals Barbarella in sci-fi cheese</font>
 • Krull: pretty cool sword and sorcery meets sci-fi flick.</font>
 • The Last Dragon: a cheesy pop martial arts flick in the 80's. Enough said!</font>
 • The Legend of the 7 Golden Vampires: cool classic one.</font>
 • Plan 9 from Outer Space: Ed Wood's true classic. If you like this one, check out some of his other flicks.</font>
 • Prophecy: the scene with the sleeping bag is just classic</font>
 • Project Metalbeast: A metal-skinned werewolf? Cool stuff!</font>
 • The Punisher: Dolph Lundgren at probably his cheesiest. Love the scene where they gun down the yakuza swordsmen.</font>
 • Remo Williams: I love the old man in this movie. Great lines!</font>
 • Return of the Living Dead: great movie!</font>
 • The Rocky Horror Picture Show: technically belongs here, but is a true cult classic</font>
 • Six-String Samurai: bunch of people running around after WWIII trying to replace Elvis as the king. Cool stuff!</font>
 • Spaced Invaders: hilarious movie!</font>
 • Wizards: a cool movie. Two wizards vie against each other (one using magic, the other using technology).</font>
 • Phantasm: cool, if disjointed, movie. Good horror flick.</font>

I was meaning to return to this thread, I swear. ;)

My copy of Quest of the Delta Knights is bootleg from when the Sci-Fi channel aired MST3K. (It's from season 9.) Poor David Warner! He plays the good mentor guy, the bad guy, and somebody else.

If you find a copy of "The Hellcats", rent or buy it. (It's one of the commercially-released ones.) It's on par with Mitchell.

Episode II. Heh.

Barbarella is a bloody fantastic film, even if seeing Jane Fonda topless does absolutely nothing for me, it is a classic and rightly so.

I've been watching bad movies lately, and I've simply fallen in love with them. It all started with Bruce Campbell vs. The Army of Darkness (or just Army of Darkness), which was instantly catapulted to the top of my list of movies, regardless the TERRIBLE cinematography, acting on most of their parts (except Bruce Campbell), bad special effects, and the never ending shotgun blasts. Then I watched "Freddie versus Jason," and it was AWFUL! And yet hilarious. Today, I purchased a movie called "Plan 9 from Outer Space," and it's just BAD, and yet, even though it was picked as one of the worst movies of all time (some think THE worst) I find myself wanting to watch it over and over and over again.

Anyone else want to recommend a bad movie, or comment on those I mentioned?
oh, and btw, for a brief exposure to the witty lines of Plan 9, see my sig...

The Evildead series is perhaps the best existing example of horror/comedy. It's brilliant! An outstanding cult classic.

Chainsaw your arm off for mentioning it in the same paragraph as "Plan 9 from outer Space"!!

Me sorta thought Peter Jackson owned, until the RotK movie (that scene near the end, where everyone suddenly feels like laughing like mad scientists, ruined that triology ); Dead Alive (aka Braindead, IIRC) and Bad Taste are both pretty neat.

shadowhound 02-20-2004 08:16 PM

The House trilogy, classic.

What about dubbed foreign movies? I need to find a poorly dubbed edition of "Shaolin Soccer" (soccer+Hong Kong choreography+bad dubbing...you get the idea...)

Anyway, though, thanks for the suggestions...keep em comin!

PS: Anyone besides me worried about Ash being put into the second Freddy vs. Jason?
