I saw it yesterday, with an 'old' friend. lol, it was great! unfotunaly slightly predictable... hehe. worked out *most* of the stuff by the middle of the film. I think it was too gory to be a 12, but *sigh*, all in all I'd give it 7 outa 10.

I will see it to when it is available on DVD sounds like a good movie!

Saw it a while ago, thougherly enjoyed it (even though tom cruise was in it ) It would have been amazing if it hadnt have been so bloody predictable.

Oh and Aviendha the reason some people hate Tom Cruise (i dont know if i speak for everyone) is because he was stupid enough to split up with Nicole Kidman for Penelope Cruiz. (A VERY stupid move in my opinion, if he had stayed with nicole instead of the pathetic penelope he could at least pretend to be very successful.)

Does it really matter to you what someone does in their private life???!!! Who cares who's cheating on who! Who cares who was seen at a club dancing with who! And who cares who's divorcing who?

Why should we let that just our perception of a movie?

Apparently Jim Carrey is a manic depressant! Does that effect his movies? Obviously not!

I really don't understand people's fascination with celebrities offscreen lives! Women's magazines are absolutely ridiculous! "Can you believe how much weight so and so has put on? How to have hair like Jennifer Aniston! What celebrities look like without makeup!"

People seem more interested in what celebrities do in their spare time, than what they achieve on the big screen. I mean let's face it, they know absolutely nothing about them! Only what the media wants them to think!

Anyway, I've had my whinge now! I feel better!

I totally agree. Acting is make-believe.

Actually, I would say that if this is true it would explain a lot. I would think riding the emotional roller coaster that a manic depressive does would make it easier to be as wacky and zany as Carrey usually is in his movies.

You can say the same thing about John Nash and schizophrenia. He said that he found his delusions so believable because they came to him in the same way as his mathematical insights. Not that all mathematical geniuses are schizophenic or that all schizophrenics are geniuses, but I think there is a link, at least in Nashes case.

Reminds me of a song by Prince (sound track of the first Batman I think)

Then give me the electric chair for all my future crumes"

I will see the movie, I utterly hate Tom Cruise Missile but love Spielberg just as much.

Btw: Thanx for keeping this thread spoiler free

I'm sorry but such a brill film just has to be seen a.s.a.p. The futre based film must be the best one I've seen for a long time.(That is excluding lotr)
Mind you some of the people I have asked about the film didn't like it. It depends really if you like thinking about the futre.

I have to interject and take up for Tom Cruise. Whatever your beef with him is, I think he's an okay actor. Even Anne Rice, who had a hissy fit when he was cast as Lestat, ended up saying she thought he did the character well and could and should do it again. Minority Report is quite good - not great, but worth watching.

Azred -
I note you thought it was better the Attack of the Clones. I think Clones was quite good. Each individual SW movie is not so great as Empire, I must admit. But, the beauty of Clones lies in its underpinnings and ties to the original movies. I'll point to one instance. When Anakin is meeting privately with Palpatine, Palpatine's ego-inflating discussion with him is ERIE. How so? Simple - go compare it to the same basic speech he gives to Luke in the Death Star years later. The newer SW movies might not be fantastic on the individual level, but the whole is certainly greater than the sum of its parts in this case.

Did he just get chased through the whole movie?
