Once complete, it will give banters and quests to all 25 BG1 NPCs, to allow them to interact more fully with each other and you (just like in BG2!) and a small selection of romances for the more likely NPCs. At the moment it's in beta and for BG1TuTu only, but work is proceeding...
That sounds great! I've always thought that BG1 could use more interaction between the NPCs.

It's a quality piece of work. Everyone's worked really hard on getting the proper 'voice'... although in some cases it's been a from-the-keel-upwards job personality-wise. There's, like, almost 900 banters/interactions, and that's without the quests! I got to write for Yeslick!

EDIT: And Quayle's written dialogue is hilarious. Like a Jan Jansen dripping with arrogance sauce. Worth having if Tiax is in the party, oh yes.

Are they going to make it so that if you've only got BG1 (not ToTSC) it will work? I want to download it too, but I can't have BGtutu with just BG1.

There are a few TOTSC-specific dialogues... but not more than a dozen. The BG1 version should work with or without TOTSC, so they tell me.

Viconia and Kiven are another pair that hate each other. Drow vs. Surface Elf, although it makes me wonder what Xan's reaction would be with Viconia. Probably the usual "A drow, we are all doomed you know. Must I say it again, we are all doomed." banter.

Another interesting combination is Brawen and Shar-Teel. Brawen seems to heap praises on Shar-Teel despite her evil nature. Guess they are both women in a mainly mans world and have a common bond.

Shar-Teel displays traits Tempus admires... Courage and strength. I also suppose that Branwen respects Shar-Teel for those same traits, being a female warrior and whatnot like Pritchke said.
And, conversely, Branwen's a big hit with many parties... but she tends to keep compliments to a minimum, depending on the characters.

Well, Branwen is neutral, so it could be that Shar-Teel is balancing out nature by wiping out good people (that is, if there's more good than bad at the moment), which is why Branwen is supporting Shar-Teel atm.

Illumina Drathiran'ar 02-17-2004 09:40 AM

No no no no no. Tempus is neutral not out of concern for balance, but to signify that he's completely unbiased, and that battle favores everyone at one time or another, and then screws them other times. He favors neither good nor evil, neither law nor chaos... He just *is*. Branwen, I suspect, is the same way.

And in the Realms, there are rarely more good than evil people anyway.

Tancred, good to hear about the new MOD, sounds like fun. When I play BG2 I notice that there is a lot more NPC interaction, but somehow it always seems to happen at the wrong moment. Just when your solving a puzzle or preparing for a big fight, they start talking amongst themselves.

Right now I've swapped Eldoth for Alora, I like her jolly personality. Plus I've still got the chance to recruit Tiax and Quayle - what fun!

That's because dialogues are triggered based on the time taht goes by in the real world, so it can happen at a random time, although some dialogues only occur after certain events have occured.
