They are very fun to play. A nice balance between melee and magic. IMHO mages are too weak, and fighters too boring. The cleric can deal with being out of spells once in a while.

Yeah, the Cleric is a solid choice for a beginner. Decent hit points, decent fighting abilities, can wear heavy armours with risking spell failure, can heal and buff like there's no tomorrow and with the appropiate domains; cast some of offensive magic as well.

I was thinking Air (Call Lightning), and Magic(Stoneskin) but there are quite a few good ones listed so it is hard to decide.</font> [ 02-27-2004, 07:11 PM: Message edited by: pritchke ] |
I chose Sun and Trickery; was glad I chose Sun but I would have chose Magic for the Stoneskin if I would have known when I was developing my character. You'll have a blast as a Cleric. The Hammer of th Gods was one of my all time favorite offensive spells. Also, don't underestimate the buff spells such as Divine Favor.

Good and Air. You get stoneskin with Good, and Chain Lightning and Call Lightning with Air. All very potent spells, spells that I've used up till the end of the game. Just as valuable is the fact that with these domains you can turn outsiders/demons and elementals with your turn undead ability.
Of course, those are just my favorites. In the end, pick what you prefer. I just can't stress enough how useful these spells and abilities will be. [ 02-28-2004, 01:50 AM: Message edited by: Illumina Drathiran'ar ] |
