I've been working over each of the major chests now for chp.1 and so far have accumulated 6 Cutting Stars (each chest takes a LOT of re-loading but eventually the Kukri pops up). I still have the beggers nest and Blackisle district to rummage through so I should be able to come close to half a mil.

I got a question- what exactly do you do when one "reloads a chest"- save the game right before opening, then open, if not right item, reload, then open, get a new item- and so on?

Oh, and its off topic, but I thought this was pretty interesting:

exactly so.

(hmmmmmmmm, there were misspellings in that teaser? LOL.)

Wolf Blade 09-20-2003 11:40 AM

Well, I didn't make it LOL. But, it may be true- I'm not sure. I'm kinda skeptical because take an unscramble word thing for example- and put the right letters in the front and back- and can I still solve it- no.

Here's an example (I tried to chose a word everyone does know (not something like chivalrous)

EX: Dronsaius

Do you know what that is- I dont think so. However the answer is:

Dinosaurs

your right I didn't get it - it isn't a common word I read.

Legolas, I must be the millionth player on NWN since Scott G - because I also pulled the Cutting Star out of a hat. I was equally astonished to see how valuable it was. As I play a Paladin who can't use Exotic weapons, it is only of sale value to me.

On this subject - how can you determine the actual value / price of an item. I know that at least one shop in each chapter buys / sells at a better rate than other shops.

In Chapter 2 the Shops buy The Cutting star for 16133 gold and then resell it for 69144.

Legolas gave these statistics

The Cutting Star:
Damage Bonus: Fire 1d6 Damage
Enhancement Bonus +2
On Hit: Blindness DC=14 25% / 3 Rounds

Total Cost: 46096
Required Lore: 20
Required Level: 15

This suggests that Chapter 2 shops buy for 35% of actual value and resell at 50% more than the actual value. Chapter 3 shops have a different set of buy/sell percentages

Question - how can you determine the actual value and stats for any object? Some of the Description do not give all the necessary info. eg Boots of Speed give a big boost to Armor Class

Lastly, the stats above for The Cutting Star mean that this kukri can inflict between 4 and 12 HPs damage with a possiblity of Blinding the opponent 1 turn in 4. For that, it seems rather highly priced !!!
