Actually I have been thinking some time about writing a mod that would ease some of the Racial and multiclass restrictions I consider unfair.
I originally had BG2 in mind, but of course it is just as relevant for BG1: Ranger: Halflings, dwarwes, elves and gnomes can now be rangers. Ranger/cleric is still the only allowable ranger multi. Paladin: Half-elves and half-orcs can now be paladins too (they need to be at least half human). Still no paladin multiclasses. Paladinhood requires 100% dedication! Mage: Half-orcs can now be multiclass but not singleclass mages. There is nothing keeping half-orcs from using arcane magic, but they don't possess the determination to be full-time mages. Bards: Elves and gnomes can be bards. Multiclass: All multiclass combinations of the four "base" classes (fighter, thief, cleric and mage) are possible as long as the species is allowed to be all classes. |
Hmm. I like most of the ideas, but I'm unsure of using a dwarf as a ranger. They're not exactly outdoorsmen, and they seem to like the inside of cities and caverns much more than the outdoors.

I agree with moose. I mean, they usually live under mountains, which cant teach them much about the wilderness, but i guess it could happen if they lived on the mountainside or somthing.

Hmm... perhaps the option to create a multi-class fallen paladin? or the option to dual class a paladin so long as it is fallen, with the stipulation that once such a change has ocurred one may not redeem their paladin status.
