I agree. It would be nice to automatically switch between a couple of items. But you can do quick spells, which is where I usually have my firestorm or flamestrike spell set.

Just... ermmm... don't be too close to the beastie when you cast that quickspell, however. There are some times when you just don't want to test how potent your fire protection is...

I managed to kill all four of them by using my wizard's Flamedrop and Firestrike spells - the flamedrop only paralyzes the Amazoni Mantraps for around 3-4 seconds...enough time to open the spellbook and get to the Firestrike spell . It's a pity there isn't a quick slot feature like in Neverwinter Nights, where you can even quickly equip different weapons or items :( .
Try to keep on running. ;) Never mind that the cloud is 20 feet or even 20 meters behind you. ;) Run until the spell wears out.

Flamedrop is truly efficient against mantraps. It is usually enough to drop 4 or 5 beneath them and they´re gone. If you manage to find the right distance you will be home free. ;)

all this is nothing compared to those jungle lilies in those boogre caves as bsfcts said, wat's more u haf a limited space to run, unless u wanna lead them to the "shocking room"........

Well the jungle lillies killed me a few times also. But nothing like the mantraps. By the time I reached the jungle lilies I knew what killed them.

of course, i tink juz one firestorm will be enoguh to kill them or make them so weak that even a small fireball (wat's that spell's name again?) will be enough to kill them! :D

Agreed. One *storm spell is usually enough for the mantraps. With the lilies, it is sometimes *almost* enough -- almost enough to kill them, but not quite. My preferred method for the lilies involves casting a *storm spell from a distance and running around a corner...

As for the meteor blast spell (I forget its name too), that works if you're high enough in sorcery and sun. Too low, and all it does is to tick them off (like you needed that...)
