Hi, Wyvern!
It is an idea, BUT.... can you imagine that your mage has only ONE Skillpoint/Level. We can count on which level he'll get spell of 7th level. I belive it would be a BIG level. This is not appropriate. Casting spells will not raise skill too fast. And buying skills are VERY expensive. I won't experience that. Moreover, I found the reason. My previous idea was not right. I made experiments this night and understood: Each Level Up you gain N Skillpoints. L would be a level from which you advancing. (Example: L=1 if you are getting level 2, L=4 if you are getting level 5). Algorithm is simple: 1. N = Intelligence / 4 2. if( N > L ) then N = L 3. You getting N Skillpoins this means that you'll get only 2 skillpoins when getting 3rd level even if you somehow get 24 Intelligence (that normally should be impossible). But getting level 7 you should get all 6 skillpoints. He-he. At leas I think so. have a nice day! hope somebody will find this info useful. |
Actually, mad god, I can count on when that mage would get seventh level spells -- by level seven or eight!
Just train in stonecraft or suncraft at the Wizard's Guild every time you go up a level. You can train a full level, without having to go through the skill point buildup necessary. And I don't think the changing classes that you mentioned (while creating characters) counts toward the level issue. It's only leveling up in the game, and changing classes in the game, that makes the difference. And Wyv, I think that formula is on the Best Tips thread... :D |
