im arguing in terms of how it would be if you had a warrior and a mage in front of you forgetting dice rolls and everything else, if they were equally able to shrug off poison or the like and so effectively both had con say 18 , the warrior would obviously be better at utilising the con, so when he "levelled" or gained experience in combat he could easily lessen the effect of the weapons hitting him (cuts n bruises etc) a mage would have less of that kind of experience but would still be equally hardy, so although there would be a gap it should be smaller than the one i see and i think the diceroll should be flat and the modifiers are based on class/race/con ie everyone rolls d6 but a warrior with 18 con would add say +5 per level whereas a mage with 18 con would only add +2
