Yes Scronan, I do know Drizzt well. He was the main character in the Dark Elf trilogy written by R.A. Salvatore. He is quite the interesting character. And the way he carved his way through those enemies in Baldur's Gate, I'd hate to be on the wrong end of those magical swords. He also has a jaguar companion, who did not make an appearance in BG.

Elves have always taken a beating because of their neutral status since the early D&D days. They were always confronted in groups, and had a king to lead them. More , and more as G.G. turned his attension to "OUTDOOR ADVENTURES" Yes it did seem like the value of some races lost sight. Hobgoblins and Elves weak in strenth by themselves, clanned together, and only the leaders were hero class or a little above. I guess slapping an evil title on them somehow made them sound more powerful then what they really are. Yes,there are the exceptions as stated in reponses above....Another Barbarion...
