A Remorhaz described as cute? How quaint.
I think I've had involuntary panic attacks around them ever since a good half dozen took out my entire party, (including Vala) with chompy critical hits once in the AD&D goldbox game, Secret of the Silver Blades on my C64 years ago.

Seeing them again in the flesh for the first time in HoW brought chills to my spine. :D
I pepper them pointy kindness and flamey goodness now and stay away whenever possible!

btw...preliminary research shows that if we discount the War Chant of Sith, then the highest possible resistances from items alone seem to be 100% vs slashing, 85% vs crushing, and 60% vs piercing.

That's what I meant by "preliminary", because I was doing that research at work and didn't have my Near Infinity or Infinity Explorer to view the TotLM items. I know Tiernon's Shield give 10% resistances, with a special ability to add another 10% once (or thrice) daily, which could really help.

@CerebroDragon. Yes! I always hated the purple worms, though--very tough and there was no coming back from being swallowed. Once--only once--I had managed to charm a purple worm; it attacked its neighbor, scored a critical hit, and swallowed another purple worm whole!
