NobleNick,

I know where you are going and what two things you are completing, but what are you picking up?

<font color = mediumspringgreen>Lymond,

Turns out it was 5 quests (4 items for the garden [LOTS of expo!] and returning Evayne's journal.

The item I needed to pick up was the Book in Mythal (spelling?) Theory. It is in the tower library.

I did all I said I would do, last night: surrounded Nym with melee guys, had the bard playing war chant, started my mage into a magic missile spell, ordered the melee guys to attack, ordered the party leader to initiate conversation, and then hit "unpause." I almost killed him before he could dimension door, then the party went to the temple and finished the job.

Am now poised to either finish IWD or start HoW. I think I will do both: finish IWD but don't save, just to satiate my curiosity, then start HoW from my pre-RBP save. I did a quick "look-see" run last night without any buffs, summons or pre-planning, out of sheer excitment and curiosity at being so close to the end. Got to hear the RBP rant... and of course got slaughtered before even getting close to being teleported...

NobleNick,

I took a road trip to the Severed Hand before getting into the Lower Deep and had already picked up the book. I was afraid I was missing something.

Tonight I'm going to clear that big room with all the bad guys, where I think you pick up the last badge. I just learned from another post that I've been using Turn Undead incorrectly the entire game, so hopefully it will come in handy in this room. I don't think I'll finish the game until tomorrow, though.

I'll see you in Lonelywood.

Yay!! Go for it!

I really enjoy having someone who is at about the same stage as I. It's almost like being in multi-player mode...

At the risk of spoiling just ever so little...

After the initial encounter, scouting ahead with a thief is a very effective tool for this area.

Some of the monsters have VERY nasty tricks up their sleeves. I found that providing summons, on which they could vent their wrath, to be an effective tactic.

I found this series of battles, especially with the final monster group, to be one of the most enjoyable of the game (so far): certainly more enjoyable than my fight with Malavon. Only had to reload once...
