Well, Rockstar, Mr. Imprisoned One isn't so easy. I beat him fair and square with fighters and mages as well, but that doesn't mean that he's an easy nut to crack. He has some nasty abilities and he does some heavy damage..

Still.. my most glorious victory over him was when my thief-character Jynx laid the area full with spike traps and then engaged conversation. The poor thing never stood a real chance.

Actually Mr. Prisoner is quite easy...all you need a is a mage with PFMW and full fire resistance...throw him in the middle of it and use youre fighters to snipe the poor fella. the mage can use Breach, when needed, but otherwise hes just the blow-absorber(who saw that coming? I just took out Improved Demobaboon yesterday on my first try, but oh boy was he tough! Every one in my party died twice except my Sorceror (PC character, obviously). This is with a party of:

Sarevok
Keldorn
Aerie
Sola (SK to thief)
Valygar

Keldorn has 100% magic resistance (it was 95, but 100 thanks to LTM ;) ), so I sent him and Sarevok (75% magic resistance) in first. Keldorn used Protection from Evil and took on the Demons that Baboon summoned, Sarevok went straight for the Baboon using his might Rillefane +5 for protection from draining instead of his usual 2-handed sword. Valygar stayed back and protected the party, moving in only in desperate times. The first to go was Sarevok, then Keldorn died after being stunned, then Valygar died after being stunned as well. My sorceror cowardly ran up the steps and summoned a Planetar and a skeleton warrior, used PI, and summoned another Planetar. Aerie eventually died after getting surrounded, and Sola barely survived (he fell down to about 10 HP) when my Planetar finally healed him up. I noticed it's hard to actually control the Planetar yourself (at least with your AI on, it is). Once all the demons were dead, it was now that I realized that I hadn't seen a single message from Demo for a long time. I scrolled all the way up the message box and still found nothing from him...did he mysteriously die? My Planetar then raised Aerie, who raised every one else. As I sent Sarevok to get his equipment, guess what he saw...Demo was still standing there, sitting at 'Barely Injured.' Sarevok went out quickly with out his armor on, while Valygar was able to put on his armor before seeing Demo. He went out too though, of course, and then the Marilyths (spelling?) whipped Keldorn when he tried to use dispel magic. So much for fighting tactics. Sola couldn't do anything against these guys, which made me wish he was still a fighter/mage ;) . Both planetars were dead, so I summoned in another one, who couldn't manage to hurt the Marilyths. But then the Marilyth suddenly died, I guess it was a vorpal hit. The Planetar raises everyone, I sent everyone (that includes my 2 wizards) in at Big D from different sides and just clobbered him till he died. He barely got enough time to cast 2 Gates :D .

Nice fight! Congratulations! But i usually have a better recepie wich includes 6 Spike Traps and an Exploding Trap. The battle lasts soooo long. :D

Are you telling me that you can lay traps around him and he won't turn hostile?! Our lovely game masters finally had the sense to make that red dragon see past that sort of thing, but you can do it to the prince of demons? Lovely, just lovely.

The good thing about advanced traps is that you can 'throw' them. Even with the Shadows of Amn dragons you can use the more advanced trap (not the High Level ones) to let them take some damage. Just don't let them see you, or you'll be in dialogue mode. Another option is to just put some (spike) traps around Demobaboon when he has just finished the first conversation.. traps will ONLY go off when someone hostile is near.

Come to think of it: when someone of your party turns hostile (domination for instance), will that trigger the traps?

I was under the impression that unless you downloaded a mod like the Sola mod, the dragons ignore traps laid (the intelligent dragon thingy isn't retroactive, I heard). Am I wrong?

how do you throw traps??? jan or delainey walks up to the trap location i specified, and plants the trap...unless you block them from moving, i guess...hmmm..interesting..

another incredibly evil and cheesy way is to have jan cast blindness on himself..once you see the icon for blindness active on him, he can go right near a hostile enemy, and lay traps...you can't lay traps within the sight radius of a hostile (red circle), but if YOUR sight radius is reduced (blindness) the enemy's sight radius is reduced...usually i abuse project image, and summon 5 planetars who take care of demo and friends...its been a while, but the last time, he survived 7 spike traps, and i had to go mano a mano with him...

EVERYONE abuses Project Image. I remember that wonderful pic of Dundee's sorc at the end of SoA, right before the final battle.. You still have it, Dundee? The one with all of the summoned creatures and four/five planetars? I loved that.

Well.. I'll test it, but from my last game I saw Yoshimo plant a couple of minor traps at the spot I pointed at, but he set the more advanced traps in a totally different place by just standing there and saying "A trap most devious for the careless of foot" indicating that he HAD succeeded in setting the snare. That's throwing a trap in my experience.

Nonetheless, most of the dragons and large enemies (including Demogorgon) are neutral (i.e. blue icon) at one point, allowing you to use a nice trap to make them shish-kebab.

I for one also. My Solo Sorcerer had the plesaure of casting Time Stop in Chapter II so when I gained HLA`s it was just overkill. I killed Imp. SoA Boss then quit. Don`t know why. But man my Elf was really powerful. The most overpowered class ever IMHO.
