I do not consider this one a valid enough reason, but since the thread is fairly recent (one month), I will let it slide).
In short, Thread Necromancy is NOT encouraged.

You can't be serious. This game is two years old. That makes 98% of the content on the main page on any given day outdated. There's a thread out there now on which battle is the toughest. Come on. How many times has *that* been discussed? Would my comment have been relevant if I had started a whole new thread? Or would someone have replied, 'we talked about that a month ago, you can't talk about it anymore'. If that's the case, you should lock the whole board and make it an FAQ, since a large number of the posts on this board are questions anyway, many of which have been discussed to death and can be answered by doing a search (which is why I rarely ask questions on a board like this, and just do searches; it saves, like you said, on 'clutter'). What difference does it make, anyway? The topic is still old regardless, and the content of the post is still new. The thread I 'resurrected' was the latest in a long line of threads on the exact same subject. You could argue that that thread fell under the definition of 'clutter' when it first appeared, as you said, only a month ago. Now I come along, have something new to add, but because the thread is old, suddenly you are classifying the new post as 'having no value', and being 'uncivil', and 'invalid'. I rarely rant on a board like this, but a couple of responses here are a bit overblown, and have actually been more uncivil than the resurrection of this old thread. I won't respond anymore on this thread. After all, it will just keep it near the top, and that would be unfair to the new posts. I suggest you retire it.
