How is IWD2, by the way(In coparision to BG2+ToB?)?
Have you played it?

I'm thinking of buying it.. I am a big fan of tactical combat, and i've heard that IWD2 scripting is waaay better than BG2 scripting, which must result in a better AI and more complex tactics.

I did it !!!!
And none of my party-members suffered a single point of damage .. haha
Dont worry, you dont have to read what's below, its a little dry, even more so 'cause i have no screenies, but i felt the need to write ;)

(Seriously) My knees/hands were shaking the entire battle,..
which took 20 - 30 minutes real time i think.

Of all the pre-fight summons, only the planetar didnt unsummon when the fight started :( Gone two 16 HD elementals and 2 wizard eyes guarding the place.

Anywayz, nothing lost .. since 2 of my 4 sorcerers active PI's were allready casting time stop. Edwin was starting too position himself too.

-1st Time-stop, followed by IA + wizard eye, resulting in a dead dragon and a wish-spell that rememorized all spells.
-Not a second later PI-2 2nd Time-stop , resulting in a Badly damage Irenicus.
- Wraith sarevok reaches edwin just as his Time-stop kicks in ... 40 energy discs and another time-stop later, he's badly injured.
-5 th Time-stop from 3rd PI .. beholder shows up in sight, I kill Irenicus and miscalculate the beholders HP .. leaving him only badly injured.

Black razor reminds me of his presence by hitting my planetar.

4th PI casts Time-stop ... beholder+ Black razor die. I spam a few wishes,
which improved hasts my party, maxes all their stats and rememorizes all their spells.

Edwin tries to cast time-stop, but sarevok hits him. My sorcerer casts
time-stop, spams wishes and spams Sword spiders to block sarevok's way.
It works, edwin casts Time-stop + energy disc and Sarevok falls.

*Irenicus-slayer*

Beginning is rough ... i manage to get to my equipment, while the sword spiders block Irenicus'way. As soon as my stoneskin and mirror Image are up, I cast PfMW, and then holy power, another THAC0 enhancement spell, PfMW and after that ghost armor and holy might + improved haste.
Irenicus doenst last more than 5 secs after that.

Describing all the spells I threw his way would be too much work ..
but those that worked were:
8 RRoR
6 Pierce shield
12 Insect plague

After 10 minutes of Time-stops, wishes and equal spell-barrages between Irenicus and me, finally all his protections except the fire-shields go down.
Immediatly 4 planetars cast 4 insect plague's ... and -totally unexpected- in less than a second his defences suddenly fall and he blows up into little chunks of meat. Very surreal, i didnt even realize what happened ... after his death 3 time-stops of 3 PI's follow in rapid succesion.. guess that overdid it a little, I just use the time for wish-spamming.

I got to give it to that last Irenicus .. he outlived 8 planetars,.. and outright Killed 2 elemental princes with just his fire-shield.

Congratulations, daan. I see you used the tactic of casting Wish during the battle as well. Some of the comments had me laughing, a very good fight all in all.

I wonder how the fella who made a party of 6 Sorcerers fared?

I am playing IWD1 [img]smile.gif[/img] I just downloaded Trials of the Luremaster which is the free expansion to Heart of Winter which is the expansion of IWD. I never got to play IWD in detail before and I am taking the opportunity to do it now. I want to max a character darnit! And be able to claim that I completed it in Heart of Fury mode( an Insane Insane Difficulty if you will. Monsters have 8* more Hp, better THACO and AC and give extreme Xp. I gained a level killing beetles in the basement at the start of the game. The beetles kill in one hit so I had to use Quarterstaffs to poke them to death).

The funny thing is... Priests are UBER in IWD, Bards are worshipped by the players( War Chant of Sith! *drool* Able to memorise and cast level 8 spells!), Paladins and Rangers are fantastic( able to cast level 6 Priest spells!), while Mages are... mediorce( *sob*). [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Its actually 3X+80 Hp, and 4X+2000XP. I dont know how THAC0 is changed.

Why does everyone use the letter O instead of the number 0 in THAC0?

Because everyone pronounce it "THA-CO" rather than "THAC-ZERO". [img]tongue.gif[/img]

I pronounce it "To hit" (it was what my mum used to say-she played DnD and apprently it was just To Hit there so she called it as such when she converted to BG series [img]smile.gif[/img]
