Heck, Avatar, I'll play, even if I have to Romance Aerie. Though, if I find Viconia, Aerie had better look out. ;)

Indeed. I turned to god - heck, I have now all the time I need in my hands to do whatever I wanted, go wherever I wanted and so on..
Of course, then again my other char did not became a god. And he did not romance Aerie, she's too whiny. And he definately was not the pointy eared pipsqueak elf, he was - like all my chars are - human :D There are simply too many "if"'s, that it would be easier to do something "alike" but diffrent. I.e. the main protagonist is the child of your BG-series char. Basically, as generally hinted, every romance one way or another led in the end to family, and who can say that there wasn't born a child from every family. If you became a god, then make so that the child is from someone whom the main char was in love, but for whatever reason it didn't play out, and didn't know that he had a child (in case of a female char it's tricky, I mean how can a female not know that she had a child :D ). Hmm... Get's tricky again. Ah, just make the new char as a long lost nephew no one knew about and done hehe.. |
I still say it could be you're character off the original BG seris; after his/her "divine"(*cough*tained*cough*) blood, its reasonable to assume (if anything in this damn saga is reasonable ) that he/her would have lost a significant part of his/her powers, for example, I remember the "cure light wounds" speciable ablilty after I left Candlekeep, via that dream theoretically, would my char have lost that along with the devine/tained essence? just a thought. It would also be reasonable to assume that he/she is a lot weaker...

Can't you just make some sort of prequel to BG instead of a sequel? I mean: it is explained that Gorion had to save you from the Altar where you were to be sacrificed so that Bhaal could rise again. Maybe a game about that (involving the Time of Troubles as well) could be interesting.

Why not tell your own totally original story that is not dependent on anything in BG series? You could have the characters start off with 0 experience and work all the way up to 8000000 or beyond. I don't know what all the modding utilites are capable of, but if you're making a mod go ahead and do it in its own universe, or at least with a totally different cast of characters. Also, that would allow you to totally rebalance weapons and other equipment, character classes, and spells and abilities to your liking. Of course this is an awful lot of work, but then again good mods usually are...
Personally I would love to see a "Wheel of Time" mod, or even a whole game that plays like BG. |
LOL, we'd all like to see a game that plays like BG. I would play $200.00 for a game the size and complexity of BG that used the Infinity engine. Has anyone played the Pool of Radiance module for NWN? You start at level 1, or ideally you do, and it is really big.

The story so far is very good, the only problem is that in BG2 when you finish the game, you are already level 20+, so a sequel would be hard to make. |

What I would like to see is one based on the Wheel of Time Pen and Paper roleplaying game. I would be willing to pay a lot for such a game. [ 10-13-2002, 07:27 PM: Message edited by: Luvian ] |
I think that you should make the new Baulder's Gate set north of
Baulder's Gate, in the city of Waterdeep, since we have heard SO much about. Though I Agree that is a good to keep the same charachter. you can make the story however you want (Though I think the family of four thing is kind of cheesy) maybe you can even have famous people like Drizzt Do'Urden, and Eliminster JOIN your party (though I know Eliminster does not like to interfear) and have old friends/loves join your party, like Jaheira,Aerie,Keldorn, & Viconia (She could hate Drizzt.) The loss of power would be good for the storyline. Other than that, it sounds great! |
