A good, constantly evolving game world would be really cool, and they are trying to make one. Ultima Online gave it a shot, as did Everquest, and Neverwinter Nights will try soon too. All in all I don't think these massively multiplayer RPGs are ever going to be able to live up to everyone's expectations though. They usually end up just being glorified chatrooms with a bit of lagged gameplay thrown in for kicks.[/QB][/QUOTE]
Have to dissagree with you. Looking at Everquest for example I think that's quite a good massive multiplayer RPG. I admit to occasionally chatting to a friend of mine, but the interface is not really suited for that. If you do want to chat-only you'd better use one of the chatrooms they have for that. If you have a fast connection there's not really much lagging in the game and it's as interactive as you can get.
