What kind of level would your cleric have to be before that trick would stop working?

It wouldnt stop working as such, but the spell sets a targets magic resistance. This means that if cast on an enemy who has a massive magic resistance it will actually be lowered to the amount set by the spell. Problem is though, the better your cleric, the higher this level will be.
