Hi Sean.

This is indeed one of the toughest battles in the game... I found the Imprisoned one easier to deal with even. Well what I did (and it worked) was put my party in one of those rooms (the one with the altar where you get control of a spirit) and sent my fastest character to release the final guardians. Just before they appeared I retreated back into the room and closed the door (ahem). Then I summoned five of the best monsters I could summon at the time (Fire Elementals DO make good cannon-fodder) and placed them strategically....uh right in front of the door.... along with my best tanks. So essentially, I had 8 tanks and 3 spellcasters ready for pandemonium. I opened the door, turned on AI, went for a quick glass of water, returned, and was asked if I wanted to Load or Quit. Ok turning on AI was not a good idea so I redid the entire strategy but this time oversaw the entire operation. Take out Nalrissa (sp?) first since she can level drain a character faster than one can say "Bodhi". Use all the Pierce Shields, Lower Resistances, and Pierce Magics you've learnt to make Ytollisa (again sp?) vulnerable. Make the Huntress your next priority since she uses ranged attacks quite effectively. The remaining guardians would be easier from this point onward.

Make a point to cast the following on your party before you open the door since all hell is going to break loose.

Protection from Evil 15' Radius
Chant
Defensive Harmony
Any other protection spells you favour.
and finally Bless (since it has the short duration)

In my opinion the toughest battle in the game, (yes I've finished the expansion and even the last battle(s) were more manageable that this). If you have Jan in your party then cast several Spike Traps in close proximity to where the guadians will appear. That should give you an edge in the battle.
