By the way this one is a classic: lol

"Again, Xzar failed to write 3 spells to his mage book! If not for our night in Nashkel, I'd have sent him packing. He did manage to write "Infravision" to his book, only because I implied that he wasn't really a mage at all and was just faking it in order to meet girls."

Sorry couldn't resist.

That's cool. What sort of music are you into? A boyfriend from middle school got me into RPGs way back in the stone age (aka the early '80s) and I've enjoyed them ever since (though, I haven't had an opportunity to play a PnP RPG since I was about 23 due to not knowing a single person who plays, time constraints, etc.).
What's your favorite fantasy book? Mine is the Silmarillion, I think. I actually prefer poetry and "literature" to fantasy, however. My favorite poet is Edwin Arlington Robinson and I think my favorite book is "Wuthering Heights" (Emily Bronte) or maybe "Seymour: an Introduction" (JD Salinger).

About the Speed Competition; well I'm not on that board but I do like the idea very much and I will probably try it out soon. I am just not that good at writing interesting/funny stories like those on that board. (I tried a little though > see the "State your Character" thread on the BGII board)

I did read your BG2 board entry. I think you'd write a great "speed competition" journal! You should give it a go.

Well thanks for the compliments

Maybe I'll give it a try then and see if it works out and if I like it! I'll let ya know

About music: Well I love a lot of different styles (really a lot, I haven't come across someone yet who has a broader colletion than me)
But my heart lies within metal (Death Metal, Black Metal, Gothic Metal, Folk Metal, etc.) Metal is a type of music that is great to create an atmosphere for roleplaying/fantasizing/daydreaming imo. That is the main reason that I like it so much. An other thing about music it that it has to be "real" if I want to like it. Meaning that it should be made for people to think about it/get a special feeling from it or something like that. It should not be composed for earning lots of money as is the case with a lot of nowadays music sadly. Thats my opinion anyways.

I have also never PnP rollplayed, due to the fact that I have never met someone in persone who does so. I would like to learn it though.

The Silmarillion is also probably my favourite novel too!!!! (hence my first name). LOTR is great too, but lately I have had a bit to much off it due to the mediacircus about the film. I have not been reading books that long though for I used to hate it when I was forced to read when in Highschool. I also enjoyed the "Death Gate Cycle" By Weis & Hickman very much and I am actually planning a BG party based on the series. I haven't read Bronte or Salinger yet but both are on my (long) list of books that I should read onetime or another in my life Poetry can be very nice to read, but I have not been into it much yet, except for some songlyrics which I also consider poetry.

I'm not sure about my best stats, but I usually roll to get as good as possible.

And when you say 90+ is a good score, thats not true. It is only good for certain races/classes, eg, when you roll for a thief, 50 is a good score. Do you follow?

2)I dont have the autopause on, but I do pause when necasary.

3)11 (and im only 17-yikes)

4)I think for ability, Kivan. He can kill more than any other NPC. As for Mages, i like Dynaheir more and more. Xan is ok, Xzar is weak but good at casting. I also like Khalid, even though he can whine a bit too much.

But I'd go with Kivan.

5)Hmmm, maybe Xzar but I do like him alot. One of my fave quotes was something like:"Go on Montoran, tell me a story of bears and gold". Twas quite amusing.

I also dislike Montoran.

1) 96 with a Paladin and a Ranger

2) I have all auto-pause options selected except 'end of round'

3) 9.5

4) Kivan, because he's cool like Clint Eastwood and he's killer with a composite bow

5) Tough to say since I haven't used all of the NPC's, but Jaheira is rather intollerable. She's a little too snooty for my tastes and I'm not a huge fan of druids anyway...

norompanlasolas 01-14-2002 06:05 AM

1) I scored 103 without cheating after almost an hour of rolling

2) no autopause for me. i do pause though not very often

3) ehhrmm... 39 (european)

4) viconia, she is the coolest char and the most interesting

5) jaheira, absolutely idiotic dialogue and what about that german accent, she sounds like schwarzenegger only female

What they mean is they TOTAL of all he scores, Say your a Fighter and you roll a 60. you could have stats like these...
strength=18/74
Dexterity=18
Constitution=18
Intelligence=3
Wisdom=9
Charisma=18

If you were to add all these stats up you would get 18+18+18+3+9+18=82
so you would have a roll of 82.ya see?

1) Can't quite remember, but it was around 89 or something- I guess for a thief that's pretty decent.

Mine are 7 1/2 (Women's)

Khalid, Imoen, and Minsc are pretty kewl. Yes, Minsc has bad dialogue In the first game, but he's alot funnier in BG2. It really depends. You either like him or you hate him. Xzar's funny in a stupid/insane kinda way, but he's not my favorite.

I despise Xan, Garrick, and Jaheira. Jaheira also gets better dialogue in BG2, but she's so annoying and arrogant. Xan's a plain downer, and Garrick's, well....Garrick. Tiax annoy's the hell outta me, and Safana's plain wierd aswell.

Scholarcs 01-23-2002 04:09 PM

1) 91 or something. Over 100 is possible.

2) Never use autopause.

3) 11

4) Branwen (all right all right )

5) Xan, sooo depressing.
