Also, in Dragonlance Lore, Reorx, the god of Darvin Kind, used a hammer to forge Krynn, I believe...
It also just seems right to have a dwarf use Crom Faeyr... |
In most of the tales I've read, dwarves are known for endurance and strength. Axes and hammers are a great weapon for them because they have enough strength to weild them well. Trying to make a sword large enough to take advantage of a dwarf's strength would result in a sword much too long for his stature.
They often outfit themselves in heavy armor, making it more advantageous to wield heavy weapons. Parrying with them is more difficult than with a balanced weapon, but your foes also have increased difficulty in parrying your heavy blows. Against another heavily armored opponent, heavy weapons are the only ones that can pound through the armor. Against a lightly armored foe wielding a smaller weapon, you can afford to take their hits on your armor, but they can hardly afford to take a single blow from a dwarven axe or hammer. |
you could be a left-the-mines urban thug style of dwarf
i'm thinking fighter/thief, dagger, short sword, club . . . or (with the tactics mod's generic archer component) a crossbowman |
Currently I am playing a chaotic evil dwarven barbarian... dual-wielding, and specialising in warhammer and axe.
I intend to go solo, but paired up with Korgan instead, since he's a chaotic evil dwarven berserker... I had so much fun in cleaving one enemy after another. |
Is it possible in shadowkeeper to make a "cleric/berserker"? would go with the role-play as a priest of war!

" Dwarves make fine thieves. You get so many skill points and get to such a high level, a point or two of dexterity doesn't matter."
Plus they get racial bonuses in find traps and open locks - the two you want to improve early on. I played all the way through with a dwarf F/T. The only drawback of a dwarf is that there are no romances. [ 08-09-2005, 01:04 PM: Message edited by: ister ] |
Well, you can get a mod to fix the romance thing, so that isn't really a problem.
Tyrion- Probably... you can pretty much make any combination with Shadowkeeper. |
Dwarven monks work for me..... :D
|
Tyrion,
dwarven berserker/cleric works very nicely in BGII - you just need to set the initial number of rages appropriate to the characters levels. I don't know if it's possible to 'create' a B/C in the original BG if Tutu is installed. [ 08-09-2005, 05:13 PM: Message edited by: Kezardin ] |
dwarves are the coolest rac e option!
