There's no way they could do a movie on BG 1 or 2. They'd botch it up so bad. I'm telling you they'd ruin it!

Yup, it's be terrible if they tryed to take the games story..

Anyway the rights to make a DnD movie are out there somwhere, but BG probbaly not.. Yea they could make a bhaalspawn story, but not along the lines of the eliments of the game..

BwerWahHAHAHA!

As for the choice of medium to make a BG-Trilogy, it can be live-action, on the scale of LotR. :D

If they did a Baldur’s Gate movie they would destroy the story.

Just think of the Dungeon’s and Dragon’s movie
Or worse the Baldur’s Gate novelizations. *shudders*

The D&D movie was written and directed by two people who never wrote or directed anything before. I blame their inexperience, especially the director's for not knowing how to illicit good performances from her cast.

The BG novels were written by Philip Athans, one of the head honchos at WotC/TSR, if that explains anything. ^_^ (Athans didn't write the ToB novel. It's better--not by much--but is still the best out of the three, IMO.)

Maybe a movie could be done if it didn't adhere to the game plot. Imagine Six of Spades' adventures set to film.

Yes, radioactive breakfast food. Good thing it's only 300 posts instead of 500. (I made the image at the same time as the other one, ~6 months ago, and I don't feel like changing it. )

<span style="color: lightblue">I think live action could be good, myself. With a good director, good writers, and a good cast, anything can be good.

Now you've recovered from that , actors:
Imoen: Sarah Michelle Gellar
Jan: Danny Devito
Haer'Dalis: Tom Baker
Korgan: Billy Bob Thornton
Aerie: Melissa Joan Hart
Viconia: Halle Berry

We should get the Sci-Fi channel to do it, most of there shows are crap, and if its bad, its not like there reputaion would be hurty,

Hm... That's a recurring theme in movie discussions. The PC. Why's the PC always have to be a male fighter Ahnold-type? What if we made the PC a mage, or a thief, or female...

I realized just now that if we were doing live-action and could have anyone we wanted, I think Jennifer Garner would do an excellent job as Imoen. And forgive me for being such a fan, but I think a powerful actress like Lena Olin should have a role... Viconia? Jahiera? I'm unsure... She could do either.

I've yet to have a suggestion for Irenicus that's satisfied me, though...

<span style="color: lightblue">There is only one actor who would do for Irenicus: David Warner. The game proves that his voice is perfect for the role, and physically, I imagine something like Captain James Sawyer (Hornblower: Mutiny & Hornblower: Retribution), though not exactly the same ofcourse.
